Benjamin Moore Paints is sponsoring Michael Israel to kick off the festivities surrounding this year’s Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting slated for Saturday, May 3, outside the Qwest Center Omaha. Scheduled to entertain the lines of shareholders who begin waiting outside the Center’s doors before dawn, the performance will begin at 6:10 a.m. Israel will create the portrait of Berkshire Hathaway Chairman Warren Buffett in what will prove to be an amazing performance featuring U-2’s music, flying Benjamin Moore Aura paint, and the mesmerizing stage presence and talent of this outstanding artist.
“We are presenting this one of a kind performance as a tribute to Warren Buffett and as a special way to mark Benjamin Moore’s 125th anniversary,” said Eileen McComb, Benjamin Moore’s director of communications. “Later this year, the portrait will be put up for sale with the proceeds donated to Girls Incorporated of Omaha.” Upon completion, the painting will be escorted into the Qwest Center where it will be autographed by both the artist and Warren Buffett. The portrait will be framed by Larson Juhl (another Berkshire Hathaway company) and placed on display near the Benjamin Moore booth for all annual meeting guests to visit. The signed portrait will be auctioned off later this year on eBay® Giving Works.
