American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists

The mission of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) is to serve the pharmaceutical sciences, promote the economic vitality of the pharmaceutical sciences and scientists, and represent scientific interests within academia, industry, government, and other private and public institutions.
Founded in 1986, AAPS is an individual membership society composed of pharmaceutical scientists who have joined together to serve both society and their own common professional interests. By the end of the Association’s first year, 2,876 individuals had signed on as charter members. By August of 1997, AAPS membership had grown to more than 7,500.

Friends of the Fishermen
Our Friends – In Need

Louisiana Fishermen are an integral part of the state’s culture. Whether they are Cajun, Vietnamese, Croatian, or Yugoslavian, they all help to make up the “Cultural Gumbo” of this great state. They are very much like those who make up other fishing communities around the world. They are honest, proud, hardworking people. They treasure the simple things in life and are, in fact, our nation’s treasure.

Friends of the Fishermen is the officially recognized fund of the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board and created as a way to help Louisiana’s fishermen in their greatest time of need (see Mission Statement.) We ask you to join us in unified support as we collectively call upon our friends and neighbors, corporations, foundations, and both non-governmental and governmental organizations to do their part.

Our fishermen need your help. Their products help to create the amazing cuisine that puts Louisiana restaurants and chefs on the map; their fishing communities drive our unique culture. Our fishermen are unable to do the thing they love most: fish. Please help support our fishermen by making a contribution. Your generosity will directly help sustain Louisiana’s culture, heritage and way of life.

Ask for Louisiana seafood.
