John F. Kennedy said, “My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.” The men and women that protect and serve commit their very lives to that belief every day!
I know JFK made that statement at a pivotal moment in our country’s history to diminish fears and rally patriotism and support, but the concept applies to all of humanity. “Ask not what someone will do for you, ask and DO what you can do for others.” This belief is prevalent in every hero from Mother Teresa to First Responders, from Superman to Batman, the Avengers and Spiderman : ).
Everyone can DO in their way. I’m lucky because I can do with art! How cool is that! I’ve never thought of my art as merely a decoration. I believe great art should do great things. When I get involved with a cause, it is not a one night stand, it is a long-term relationship. It is what I believe in and bringing others to see and support the purpose. I’m proud and honored to have been a part of the 100 Club going on almost eight years since performing at their 40th-anniversary event in 2008, and I look forward to continuing to DOing what I can do!
